At 6th of December, 2019, Management of Technology Laboratory (or, formally known as International Joint Laboratory of Technology Management in Emerging Countries/ITMEC) SBM ITB – YU held a meeting for discussing the agenda in 2020. Almost all of the members participated and presented their research progress. Discussion and feedback session followed.

The overview of the agenda can be seen above. The research activities includes the collaboration with other universities in the Asian MoT Consortium/AMC as well as other local universities and research centre.

We are looking forward to becoming more productive in 2020!

Program

Our program is categorized into 3 main subjects: Research, Supporting Learning and Teaching, Training and Consultation,

Research

We believe collaboration effort in doing research will result in innovative findings. Therefore, we partner with other faculties in ITB, international universities, and also corporations.

Our recent research projects (and partners):

  • Assessment of Indonesian firms’ technological level (Yamaguchi University)
  • Disruptive technologies in the transportation sector (NCSTT-ITB)
  • IP Management (Yamaguchi University)
  • Patent-related research (Yamaguchi University)

Facilitating Technopreneurship

MoT Lab facilitates technopreneurship in SBM ITB by assessing the products or technology resulted from research in the engineering faculties’ laboratories in ITB and formulating a kind of commercially-prospective products portfolio. MoT Lab works together with real technopreneurs (ITB alumni) for the assessment.

This portfolio will be presented to SBM students (bachelor and master) in a kind of engineering + business matchmaking platform, either in a special forum or in the sessions integrated to some courses. This effort would be expected to facilitate the collaboration of engineering and business students to form technopreneurs teams. More often than not, the involvement of product design students from Art and Design Faculty will be necessary, hence the technopreneurs will expectedly emerge from engineering + business + design collaboration.

Supporting Teaching & Learning

MoT Lab develops and conducts course sharing with distinguished Asian universities, including Yamaguchi University, MJIIT Malaysia, and HCM IU Vietnam.

Within the campus, MoT Lab collaborates with selected courses within ITB, we conduct guest lecture sessions which aim to promote knowledge about:

  • How to become a technology entrepreneur
  • How IP management works
  • How to develop a suitable digital business model

Training and Consultation

We share best practices and disseminate leading-edge thinking to the community by conducting seminars and workshops regarding various subjects related to business, technology, and innovations. Examples include:
