We also develop and share courses with various leading universities, namely Yamaguchi University, Malaysia-Japan Int’l Institute of Technology (MJIIT) Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia, DTU (Danang Technology University) Vietnam and Chiang Mai University (CMU) Thailand.

ResearchMoT Lab's research agenda

MoT Lab's research agenda is to discover how technology can create added value for a company's business. Be it through procurement, new product development, production, marketing, to post-sales and customer relations. MoT Lab was formed through collaboration between lecturers and researchers at YUMoT and SBM ITB on topics related to technology management. Research conducted by MoT Lab is directed to provide support for educational activities related to technology management and technology-based entrepreneurship.

The MoT Lab program includes joint research in AMC context, education such as joint teaching with YUMoT, double degree program on MBA, to select and recommend an SBM alumni for MoT master degree in YUMoT and seminars and knowledge cafe on technology management. MoT Lab also actively collaborates among ISAME members.

PositioningPositioning of MoT Lab in ITB

As a Lab that has advantages in research related to technology management, MoT Lab positions itself as an important part of the technology commercialization process at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). In the commercialization phase, MoT Lab has a role in the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) assessment, prototyping, business model assessment, and market introduction process.

Furthermore, after the assessment process from the MoT Lab, the results were forwarded to LPIK ITB to be incubated and then used as a spin-off by PT Rakacipta Innovation (a company specifically appointed by ITB for commercialization).

MakerspaceMakerspace

One of the facilities at the MoT Lab is a makerspace, which supports practicum in lectures at SBM ITB, for example the Technology Learning for Entrepreneurship course. Students are introduced and creative with various IoT sensors and microcontrollers, as well as 3D printers and laser cutters. Thus, it is hoped that students can creatively make various designs and 3D prints so that students not only understand managerial aspects but also understand the technical substance of a technology product.
